That's two different types of walkie talkies. These are designed for jobsite use, maximizing short range performance over long range so it can move through multiple floors of concrete, steel, etc. Also designed for construction dust, rain, drops and has larger batteries for all-day use.
Long range walkie talkies (which I think are up to 30 to 40 miles now) aren't designed for jobsite use. Good for caravans, hiking, theme parks, etc.
