Google is now offering Google Earth Pro for $0 downloaded. This used to be sold for $399 a year. Provides close up high definition 3D viewing, planning, mapping, and measuring as well as data on demographics and traffic.

It may require a couple of tries to sign up. The link URL mentions that this is a trial version, but it is still unclear whether it is limited or not.

Of course I had to make up where I work, do, and phone, but after making sure all fields where filled and unchecking anything to do with keeping me updated, it sent my key no problem.

First try got an email with key within 30 seconds. Google is offering this free for business and/or personnel use starting January 20, 2015.

Sharewareonsale.com email this morning had this link. Installed and registered fine with one of my gmail accounts.

Kind of cheezy how they use crappy 3D effects. Definitely NOT high def.

The PRO version pretty much only adds demographics info to the standard version. For a commercial user, that may be very important. However, the PRO version is still simply the standard version that you can get easy, unregistered and quickly. Once I gave PRO a spin, I lamented giving out my personal information at the registration. I've since unloaded the program, as it seems like quite a resource hog...and is likely to be used infrequently at home.
