Anderson&#8217;s most recent work is NBC&#8217;s recently cancelled, but notoriously excellent\u00a0<em>Hannibal<\/em>. Duchovny is on NBC&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Aquarius,\u00a0<\/em>itself in its first year and picked up for a second.<\/p>\n<p>This revival mirrors another recent success for Fox. Kiefer Sutherland and a number of other notable regulars returned to the\u00a0<em>24\u00a0<\/em>universe of terrorism, torture and American pride. That aired in the summer of 2014 and rumors of a spin-off series or straight up continuation have been swirling ever since.<\/p>\n<p>And much like\u00a0<em>24<\/em>, Fox&#8217;s\u00a0<em>X-Files\u00a0<\/em>extra life will probably end on a cliffhanger and give us nothing but separation anxiety all over again.
