If you’ve watched a cartoon in the last 50 years, you’ve seen the infuence of Chuck Jones. It’s inescapable. He’s the John Lassetter of Looney Tunes. Actually, Lassetter is the Chuck Jones of Pixar. He created – directed, wrote, animated, etc. – a vast many of Warner Bros. short cartoons over the course of his life (1912-2002), and him and his work have been deconstructed and studied so widely as to almost render any further observation on the subject redundant.

And yet, today’s YouTube highlight from the channel Every Frame a Painting manages to revitalize the study. If you want to understand why Bugs Bunny, the Road Runner and Wile E.
