The thing is, on a cheap(er) chair you may have the padding wear out as fast as the faux leather, at least if you keep it out of direct sun. More HQ padding and real leather tends to cost > 2X as much.
On something like this (any chair with painted plastic) you are likely to see the silver paint wear off the arms first... wish they'd just leave black plastic, black. Same goes for automotive interiors!
