Last Logi mouse I got had protruding buttons like that and I found them extremely annoying. Especially the one right behind the wheel which I kept touching with my index when scrolling with the wheel. The side buttons also look like they stick out significantly and I don't see why couldn't they be more flush with the mouse. It looks like a poor designed mouse to me.
