I've had this before... Could never quite eliminate the background hiss (like a soft white noise) no matter how precisely I tried to adjust the tuning dial or no matter which of the three channels I used. I finally got tired of it and bought a small stereo amplifier with Bluetooth and a nice Bluetooth headphone.... It was the best decision I ever made for filling this need.
The headphones I use are BOHM B76 (Active Noise Canceling). I got them on a4c.com but at the moment they have only used condition.... However, Monoprice has the same with their branding as Monoprice SonicSolace Product nbr 38292 actually on sale for 40 bux at the moment... Well worth it for kicking around the house or on a bus, train or airplane! Its very solid with a "heavy" durable build feel to it. I have both... Bohm for me and the monoprice for my son....
My Sony mini stereo hifi box is old and has no BT built in. So, I bought the Aventree Oasis Long Range Bluetooth Transmitter Receiver from , Item number B01H6I3YGK.
Before you ask why spend the extra money? Why not just pair the headphones with the TV BT transmitter and be done with it.... The combo of the TV BT signal output and headphone volume was just not loud enuff for me. The Sony mini hifi solved that problem. I can ramp up the volume output on that, and transmit a much stronger volume sigmal to my headphones via the Aventree Oasis xmitter. And then further adjust the headphone volume. ALSO my solution allows me to listen to TV or Cable via headphones simultaneously with sound output to the soundbar for the family to listen to as well. So I can leave the room and still hear the movie while gathering clothing from the dryer for everyone to sort and fold. Wanna live in my house? Be prepared to do chores, ya freeloaders!
