I got an Oculus Go on CyberMonday when had them for $120 and even at that price I thought it was not worth it. The image quality was so awful I knew I would never use it. The Fresnel lenses combined with the relatively low resolution result in many artefacts, focusing is inconsistent, and the lack of inter pupillary distance adjustment make them really hit or miss (a definite miss in my case). To be fair, the software is really, really good, and the controls well designed and responsive. But without image quality, you got nothing, unfortunately. Anybody has some feedback on how much of an improvement the Quest is compared to the Go?

The Quest is much much better looking that a Go. If I had to rate visual quality I would give the Quest a 8 and the Go a 6. Thats how much better looking the optics got. Less god rays and screen door effect in the Quest. Quest is a beast with the new software released and USB-C cable you can hook up to a PC if you want.
I don’t know what you guys are talking about. If you have tried VR before you know the GO is no where near the high end VR stuff but not because of the visuals. The quest and GO visuals are very similar. But if you try VR the experience is not about visuals, it’s about the immersion. The quest tracking environment is as good as the previous high end stuff. Not getting the quest is like not getting the iPhone 3 because eventually the iPhone 8 is going to come out. Of course the iPhone 3 wasn’t that evolved a phone compared to the stuff they had now but you knew it was the best when you used the rudimentary touchscreen function
