OK so these are 5 decent movies in 4k (if they really are 4k - some are, some aren't I believe - see real of fake 4k website) for 13 bucks. Not bad and useful on a cold, wet Autumn day to entertain the family.

Here's a small caveat though: For the moment, if you buy these on Vudu, you have to use Vudu to watch them.

To explain why this might be important to some: Not all vendors make a client for all devices. A nice to have is that your movie is from a studio that has signed up with Movies Anywhere such that you can say buy it on Vudu but if Vudu doesn't make or deprecates their client for your old "smart" TV / device, you may still be able to watch it on Google Play, FandangoNow,
Amazon
etc etc. Buy somewhere, watch anywhere on any device.

So I know it's small potatoes when you can buy a FireTV stick for peanuts, but I do see value in buying movies that are Movies Anywhere capable.

To illustrate, I recently bought the Expendables collection for cheap money and it only shows up in Vudu - doesn't appear anywhere else - this is because it's distributed by Lionsgate, which hasn't signed up *yet* for Movies Anywhere.

Looking at these five Jack Ryan titles, they are all Produced / Distributed by Paramount who have bought the movie rights to the novels (they also bought Cardinal of the Kremlin, Without Remorse and Rainbow Six, wiki tells me). Just like the Lionsgate example (and MGM), Paramount doesn't yet have agreements in place with MA, so just be aware that wherever you buy this Jack Ryan collection from will be, until that changes, the only place you can consume it.

So if you're ever buying the digital version of a movie, just check the distributor in wikipedia and xref with the latest info on the Movies Anywhere website - I got to the right page by searching for "Which movie titles are not eligible for Movies Anywhere"

SUPER good point here. If these were non-paramount, it would be great. Movies Anywhere is a great resource for making things platform agnostic (I'm sure I'm sacrificing some sort of privacy but then again, when am I not?). Any impulse purchase recently and in plans forward will be from a studio that participates in Movies Anywhere. I don't want to figure out where I have content to watch it. I just want to watch it.
