Per google:

Directional TV antennas are antennas designed to pick up signals in the direction you point them. Omni-directional antennas are designed to pick up channels in all directions. This tradeoff off is done by focusing the antenna gain, which is different from amplifier gain.

Which is different from Gain laundry detergent which smells great but is a tradeoff from the higher effective cleaning power of Tide.

This antenna doesn't work any better or worse than all of the other antennas on this site for a helluva lot less. YMMV because of your distance from the transmitter, line of sight, the way you have the antenna turned or pointed, if the antenna is powered or not, background EMF noise, how high you mount it above the ground, how high you mount it based on the buildings around you, the weather, how many planes fly by in any given hour, the number of clouds in the sky, how hard the wind is blowing around the transmission tower, how hard the wind is blowing around your antenna, if you have it mounted in the attic, if you have it mounted on the roof, etc, etc, etc.

The antenna thing since we have gone digital is an exact inexact science. Things that work one day don't necessarily work tomorrow unless you live within 10 miles of the transmitter in an urban area. PERIOD.

50 mi. is meh. I've gotten 100+ mi. with a non-amp roof mast mounted ordinary 4-bay bowtie ant.
