We have a google home, a mini, 2 Insignia smart speakers, and 2 chromecasts. :) I guess you could say we're a google-friendly house. And to boot, we also run a hass/homeassistant server which interfaces with and integrates all our smart devices. AND YET, I still had to jump on this deal. I have no idea what we'll do with the 2 minis (also got 1 free from the recent Spotify promotion) but it was too good to pass up.
I've got alexa all through the house to the point that I'm putting new promotional dots in my parents' house (to great amusement) and have a google home in a cupboard somewhere that I've never bothered to activate.
Times change! I think this (backordered) and the deal are so good to get into that ecosystem that I couldn't pass them up. I've got a weird mix of apple/amazon/google so it seems like this is a reasonable way to keep my head above this water I've gotten myself into :)

it use to be listed just above the "final price $99.00:" 2 free google mini "you save $58"... (something like that), and the mini's would be automatically added to your cart when u add the google home hub to cart. think they removed the 2 free mini promo when the google home hub became "Temporarily On Backorder" or when their promo limit was reached (dunno if they had one). either way the 2 free mini deal is dead.

When I first tried last night Adorama's website was behaving strangely -- let me put the deal in the cart and then said it was sold out during checkout. I did a bit of googling and arrived at the deal from another direction, and everything worked fine. NB: during checkout it was clear that both the hub and minis were on backorder (plus I received an email update this morning saying the same). When I checked on the deal a third time about a few hours later, the 2 free mini promo was done.
Saw a bit of speculation at androidpolice that there is a limit on when retailers can offer the deal, which may explain why it seems to be hopping from place to place. If so, we should presumably see it a few more times elsewhere, hopefully without the rather high abt cost of shipping.
