Interesting, this price is far from its stratosphere price this model has been at. While not any real deal price seeing this without any rebate, shipping, etc. to get it at this price is good. For what has been the Premium model of almost all Polaris AIB's, with one of (if not) the healthiest boost clock of 1430Mhz, while with 2100Mhz memory that provide 8.4 GHz effective memory. That memory alone gives it the goods to walk away from many generic GTX 1060 6Gb, as that even little memory improvement has a great effect on performance.
While I think this card has value, I just think I'd hold for what termed as the RX 590 that is rumored to show in a couple of weeks here. While I don't think this RX 590 will be a huge improvement above this, I just see this as price correcting for the eventual step-up.
Casecutter, I agree completely. The gtx 1060 is going for 190 when you consider rebates, shiiping and free gift. A further discount on this to at least bring it below that price point would make this a good buy!
^ daddyman - I would like you to point-out "any decent" (aka dual fan) GTX 1060 6Gb that's not $240 and up? I can't recall in the last 6-8 weeks a full and appropriate GTX 1060 6Gb for $200 after it's all said and done.
You must be confusing real GTX 1060 with the "inbreed 3Gb Geldings"... Some of those work down to $170 after a $20 rebate. But such 3Gb unit are not any better in performance (sparing partners) to the RX 570 4Gb, while then Nvidia sticks you with 25% reduction in memory which anymore even for 1080p 4Gb is considered the bare-minimum moving into the future.
Today you an get a PowerColor - RX 570 4GB RED DRAGON for $140 -AR$20, but need to pay the "Egg AMD tax" of $5 for shipping that's almost universally incurred more often on AMD deals.
