That seating position does not look very comfortable.

More comfortable than parking one's **** on the ground, I suppose. Also handy for waiting in long lines at the DMV.

Wallace World has them for the same price, and you can buy one at a time.

This thing's over 2 pounds according to reviews. That's hardly a "backpacking" chair. Try recreational car-campers.

I have 2 of these types of chairs. Costco is rated I think at 225lbs always something to keep in mind. They are really nice for camping 2lbs is heavy for backpacking, however. I have come to realize it is quite nice not to have to rely on a log or the ground. For size, I carry it with me in the car because it takes up almost no space and is a decent seat in a pinch. That all being said I would much rather have a typical camping chair as these don't have the longevity of sitting like a regular chair. there isn't much room to do much other than sit normally you can't really lean back or forward because of how the base is aligned with the top of the chair. if you lean too hard on one end it will break more than likely. I got some chairs like this that are rated for 325lbs. Even if I weighed 160lbs I probably would go with the higher weight rating. I don't mind an extra 6oz if I can guarantee that no matter how I have my body in a position of the chair its not going to break. So far after 1 year. My chair is still going strong. used in drinking beer at a friend where there isn't a lot of seating. softball after beers, weekend car camping if the main objective is to hike and minimal sitting. canoe trips its perfect for that. for the record, I weigh 220 lbs.
