^ While interesting, it may be dated info that applies only to that generation of HDD. Those were mostly drives purchased in 2012, some more recent in 2014.

Run a SSD for your C: (OS / Programs) & a Mechanical (Data, Backups, Drivers) for your D:. Less spindle speed = less heat.
