Each port supports 2.4A. I suppose if you are the unusual person who needs to charge 5 things at once, all at 2.4A then it isn't for you, but most people won't need, nor would they benefit from paying extra money for, a 12 amp power supply for a 5 port charging station. However if you really need 12A, here's one for ~$24 after a 5% off coupon but just a block type, not a station per se:
