Haven't used Raise since 2014. That was when I bought a $250 OfficeMax gift card for $214.50 to get a great deal on a color laser printer. I had the police in Chicago calling me here in Denver wanting to know why I was using dodgy gift cards to buy stuff on the internet and ship it across state lines. Turns out the gift cards were originally bought with stolen credit cards. I gave the police proof of purchase from Raise, and a couple of weeks later they cleared me. Luckily OfficeMax didn't chase after me for their printer, but I had a big balance on the gift card I couldn't use. Meanwhile Raise said it was my loss since Raise was just a "marketplace facilitator" and the transaction was supposedly between me and the card seller. I had to embarrass them on their FB page to get them to do anything.... they reimbursed me the balance of the card.
Well Raise is still in business, so they must have got their act together by now....?
