The reviews I've read all put this TV squarely in the entry-level 4K category, though you can't argue with that price - only the TCL's and off-brands are cheaper, and the only direct competitor for me is the entry-level Vizio. (The TCL's HAVE gotten pretty decent reviews, but I'm buying for my older mom, and the Roku interface on the last TCL I got her was too complex for her and scared her off).
Pros: -IPS Display (great viewing angles) -WebOS is solid, one of the better SmartTV OS's -HDR-10 -Good color reproduction after calibration -Semi-matte screen (less prone to glare)
Cons: -No localized dimming (and thus, inconsistent black levels) -No wide color gamut -Relatively low max brightness (best for darker rooms) -Below average max contrast -HDR limited to HDR-10 (No DolbyVision) -TruMotion better left off -Built-in speakers are lacking -Out-of-box display settings less than stellar (you'll spend some time in the menus getting it right - there are however plenty of recommended settings on various forums just a Google search away)
Neutral: Decent to average input lag (Good enough for all but most competitive gamers)
I ordered one for my mom from Best Buy for $800, and am crying inside because I'd love to return it and get the additional $150 GC from Dell, but she'll be out of the country by the time they'd deliver it :-(
Seems very enticing to go for. My HD LG has been fine for over a year and a half so I trust the company name enough to buy a 4k TV now and WebOS is a solid system for this TV. The fact you get the extra $150 at Dell seems like an awesome bonus even though it's limited options at their store.
