I took a risk and got some no name brand roof top carriers that grip the down tube for less than half the price of this deal. Works great for me, over 500 miles with them without any issues.

Not bad for a new one! For good deals on used bike racks, check out the periodic scratch and dent sales at your local REI store. They carry Yakima (an excellent brand), Thule, and a couple others. Get in line early!
