For less money, one can buy an Obi adapter and a cordless phone and have the same thing.

Just set up an Obi200 literally yesterday with Google Voice and the wifi adapter. So far works great with some initial smoke testing.

I know this is obvious but it should be mentioned that you have to plug this into your "High Speed Internet" for this to work. Hard to believe but there's still folks out there without home internet.

Obi is the way to go, The taxes kill me on this one, slowly they rised to $5.xx.. This is ripoff.

monthly taxes for $5.+? If that is the case then MagicJack for the long haul at $60 for 5 years is a great deal. No taxes. Just hope that the MagicJack Go device doesn't overheat like recently mine did. A replacement costs $15 from them. I need to somehow attach a heat sink to it to disperse the heat.
