Whenever I've used one of these the cutting is all about the angle of attach. Always cut at a 45 degree angel opposed to 90 degrees across the limb. It's amazing what they will go through when cutting properly.

^ Yeah but it's still the case that some are thicker and harder than others. HQ machetes are usually over $50.
