This is an amazing antenna in the right circumstances. It works well in the DC metropolitan area (Northern Virginia) where I am 20 miles from the broadcast sources in multiple directions. Refurbished doesn't make much difference here -- this is essentially a metal antenna wrapped inside a rigid plastic sheet. It probably doesn't work as well if you're 35 miles or more from the broadcasters. Don't worry about the lack of an amplifier -- this actually works better without it.
