It's like an Apple product: nothing special inside, looks really cool on the outside, double the regular price. DaveC also says it handles vibrations better.
It's basically a hybrid, sits in between a normal engine starting battery and a deep cycle. So, not as good for starting your car on a cold winter morning, but better for listening to the radio while the engine is off.
Another good use might be a car seldom driven, so the deeper discharge the battery sees isn't as damaging to it.
Then again, it's twice the price of others you can find on sale so if you have the extra space you'd be as well off hooking up two deep cycle batteries in parallel... but most people don't have the space unless they feel like stringing heavy gauge cable to the truck.
