Does ANYBODY know anyone that has actually been victimized by a crook reading a credit card in their wallet? Why do these ridiculous RFID wallets keep showing up here?
It's almost IMPOSSIBLE for that to happen. The crook would neither short out the chip with over voltage, or not even be able to read it sure to undervoltage, and that's assuming they could even get close enuff to your wallet AND sustain the correct distance for the right period of time necessary for a contactless interaction even occur. AND THEN, even if so, the chances of the crook having the correct cryptographic keys necessary to decrypt the secure data in the chip is next to ZERO. AND THEN.... even if so, your bank will simply refund you for this fraud, just like any other fraudulent use of your card.
