These are real and I buy them all the time. Volume licensing keys that companies dont need is essentially what they are. They register with Microsoft and everything.
These are real keys, but they are in violation of Microsoft's End User License Agreements. For example, a university buys 10,000 seats (licenses) for their network. They will be sold at heavy discounts, and the one key will be good for 10,000 computers. These companies get access to these VLK keys and resell them.
Second way, they get these keys from the Microsoft Developer Network (MSDN). These keys are not meant to be used in production, but rather testing purposes only. It is cheaper to get an MSDN account, than it is to buy a retail copy of Windows/Office.
Last way, but more uncommon, when a machine is recycled, the key should not be used again. Sometimes, they will get the activation keys from broken computers, and will resell those.
In all manners, they violate the Microsoft EULA and the key can be terminated at any time.
