WD RED drives are excellent. Quiet, cool, low power. Perfect for use in a NAS or a TiVo or a surveillance NVR. I use them in all three.

Perhaps not as fast as some Enterprise 7200 RPM drives, but more than fast enough for most data storage usage, and fast enough to simultaneously record six HD programs on a TiVo, and play back a recorded show, all at the same time.

Just a really well made mechanical drive.

has 20% of 1-star reviews for WD Red drives, which is pretty bad. ALWAYS backup your data and don't put two identical drives (from the same batch) into one RAID.
