This thing is being unloaded because (among other things) it doesn't act like an SSHD. The reviews I read say that it is fine as a 1TB hard drive. The price is about the same as other 1TB notebook drives, and since it's a WD Black, it should have decent longevity.
I dunno, it's got 3 years of support I doubt they would keep that warranty if it wasn't ever going to perform. Maybe a firmware update will resolve. Otherwise it's a fantastic deal.
You won't get the same speed as a SSHD but you will notice a significant speed increase over a traditional hard drive and this drive will last much longer than a traditional hard drive before it burns out on you so for this price it's a great way to get more storage without sacrificing much of the speed you'd get going with a SSHD.
