They need to make more space between the outlets since most things use wall transformers these days. I don't know why the designers are living in 1940 and think the only thing people plug in are lamps.
^ The idea is they just include as many outlets as will fit, where if they spaced them out more there would be fewer outlets. They could make the case bigger to do this but then could include even more outlets... just use every other one.
