Some good deals here. The Ryobi deal is only a single tool or battery, while all the other brands are 2.

It is most helpful if you can select the higher amperage batteries. If you can only choose the lower 2 or 3 amp batteries then you will need several to be able to run a tool longer than a few minutes. The better deal may be to select the optional tools and watch for separate deals on the higher amperage batteries.

I'm surprised they included batteries. That's awesome. The Makita deal even has a dual 4A battery kit. Not bad.

All of the tool systems are good quality. Ryobi is a bit more "homeowner" instead of "pro". The more important question is what kind of work does he need to do? Woodworking? Electrical? Demo/Construction? etc. There are several good tool websites that discuss the advantages of each brand's system for different work.

It's usually cheaper to buy whole new set than to just replace the batteries....good deal!

This is a great deal!! I bought a Ryobi replacement battery and spent almost $100. So just the batteries as extras is fantastic! This would make a great Christmas gift!

These are useful, reliable, and durable tools. I think I'll take advantage of this offer. Two batteries is a must option, especially for a job that takes hours of power tools usage.

When buying batteries, keep in mind that not only do the larger ones run the tool longer, but they get less stress on them under heavy load. The current draw gets divided between more battery cells making them last longer, plus the tools often perform stronger because of less voltage drop.

Milwaukee makes some of the best! I've had my Milwaukee set for almost 5 years, and it's still going strong on the original batteries.
