I would love for them to still maintain an online toy store. They've had some really competitive deals the last couple of years. Great brand recognition too. It'd be a shame to see it all go into oblivion.
Ha, just a few years ago TRU and KB were owned by the same company, Bain Capital, that ran TRU into the ground. We can all thank Bain Capital for destroying an icon.
It was Bain Capital and all the debt ToysRUs was saddled with 10 years ago. and the shift to buying online was just the nail in the coffin, not the cause.
They didn't evolve so they died. I wouldn't blame 's or even Bain really. TRU's business model hasn't changed in decades. Every store I ever entered looked the same as it did 20 years before. Babies R Us was a good idea and useful when I started my family. But we haven't been back to BRU since needing a stroller. And I only went into TRU recently to use up a gift card. RIP. Another piece of our collective childhood gone.
I will miss TRU but they made a big mistake in not advertising that they would meet prices! I found this out too late to make good use of that info. It is nice to see a toy up close and touch it. WHY DIDN'T THEY ADVERTISE AS I MENTIONED ABOVE?? Too bad.

Ya, saw a post in front of a local ToysRus, "liquidation has been postponed, date is TBD."
Seeing kids holding just-purchased toys in front of ToysRus for last pictures by parents... I'll miss Toys"R"Us.
Thank you!
