So why would I pay this amount of $$ for a brand-less vacuum and dont get a Dyson ?

Because this is a better deal than Dyson. I bought this earlier this year with the same concern, and haven't even looked back. Company is responsive and the product is sound. Lives up to its claims. Kitty litter and random household floor čråp are no match.
