Since most of the apps to connect with this are NOT free, (or their free version was way too limited), I would expect to find these priced even less. (I did say "most" -- I found one app that let me read and CLEAR codes and was free,"CarScanner.info").

Or you could say it's priced as cheap as it is because you're not also paying for a software license and then you have the money saved, available to spend on whichever add you want to use, although Torque Lite (free) provides a lot of functionality for the $0 cost, and the free version for PC does even more.

carscanner.info was the first free one I found that would read and clear codes. Loaded and deleted three other apps that wouldn't do that much with their free version. I suppose I just thought that might be useful information for someone buying this.
i went through like 6 of these through before i found this one that works and clears the codes: amazon.com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1" target="_blank">https://www..com/gp/product/B005NLQAHS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I personally like BlueDriver more details of everything. I can print everything out, But it not cheap. I use it to clearing codes, then again every diagnostic code reader do that too..

CarScanner free version is crippled. The Pro version is not free. But that applies to all of them, except the Open Source one on SourceForge site (OpenOBD):

and Torque (Lite) works for me.
