Not everyone is you Sidnas. It may be hard to believe but some people don't subscribe to Netflix. Take a deep breath, but there are some places with little to no internet connections.
Don’t understand the point of owning something that I can stream anytime anywhere I want.
Because maybe you'd rather own it for a lifetime instead of having to pay the fee to access Netflix?
Are you going to watch it for a lifetime?
I have a decent collection of Blurays, DVD's and some 4K. I'm partial to buying great movies, but TV series? Not so much. I don't know if I'll ever have the patience to sit through connected episodes again.
There's also the fact that not all content would stay at one streaming service forever, since licensing tends to be renegotiated periodically. Disney/Marvel and Comcast/NBCUniversal produced movies and shows are likely to be pulled out from Netflix as those companies start their own direct-to-consumer streaming services, for example.

The only exception may be The Wire.
Thank you!
