In my humble opinion, these are garbage. Reliability in anything, let alone a medical device, is important. I don't see this helping with anything but frustration.
I've disassembled several, and found that the internals of these devices are almost identical. Some cheap "industrial" products - designed for the mechanic or cook - are +/- a lot. Most costly "medical" products are closer to reality. I suspect they come from the same production line, and the difference is calibration/accuracy. HOWEVER: If you use either (industrial or medical), it appears that you may rely upon any deviation from your personal average with that specific instrument. That is, if you consistently show 34C and suddenly show 36C, be concerned - though 37C is medically "average".
Why buy junk like this that’s unreliable and inaccurate. You can purchase a hospital grade thermometer on ... Alaris turbo-temp thermometers for 30-40 bucks.

Thank you!
