If this is to be believed, this is a 4K (UHD - Ultra High Definition) TV. Sony is about to release a 55" for $5k. Not sure about the brand or the connectivity to support this resolution (HDMI 1.4 should, but it doesn't confirm this spec).

HDMI 1.4 will, but at 30Hz input since that's all 1.4 will support... tho' still 120Hz out.

It's real, though reports from those who have seen it in person are it isn't as sharp as expensive high end sets, more geared towards higher res computer screen than an improvement over a good 1080p TV for the screen size.

It's a shame they don't include passive 3D, as that's where 4K makes more sense.

SEIKI and TCL are MADE IN CHINA brand. MADE IN CHINA brands, specs are not true and full of fraud. I have bought a 55 in TCL TV 240hz LED which went back to FRY'S ELECTRONICS within a day after comparing resolution to my PANASONIC LED. Going to pass on these two brands. Not going to waste gas and time returning the products to stores. I hope this helps.
