These hybrid drives definitely offer a performance benefit over regular drives if you cannot afford the price of an SSD large enough for your needs. That said, I ditched one of these for an SSD and saw a huge performance increase. Better than a regular drive but slower than an SSD, an OK middle ground.

I don't event think that you can get non-hybrid drives for this price.
This is a great buy if you need a new HDD. I have an older (now) laptop with a hybrid drive for couple years, and it's running well. This drive also saves laptop batteries, it's no SSD, but this is a great deal
