^ Yes, standard 3.5" SATA HDD inside, but you lose the warranty and there is no guarantee which drive model it is, whether PMR or slower writing SMR. Some Expansions been Barracudas, some Ironwolf.
I usually run externals as externals till the warranty is up, then shuck them.
