The smaller 6 pc kit might be a better starter set for a DIY/homeowner, if you can get it at $199. Similar to this set, but missing the miter saw and jigsaw and with 2 1.5AH batteries instead of the 4.0 and 1.5. Comes with the (superior, imo) P117 quick charger though. 5.5" circular saw instead of the 6.5" in this set. Both will cut 2x lumber, though the 5.5" won't cut bevels in 2x. This set does come with a 3 speed impact driver vs a single speed din the 6pc set. The jigsaw is a useful tool though, you can always get that separately. Not sure how useful the small miter saw is.
