    It's not like SSDs need a fan. $4 for a simple sheetmetal bracket, or $0 with fan - but you have to screw with a rebate.

    Pointless for an SSD. for 2.5" drives, the fan is a nice touch for those with basic ATX cases.

    Yeah a fan for SSDs is just a noisy failure point, I'd just take the fan off. While it's nice that it allows 2 x drives in a single 3.5" bay slot, if your case isn't that cramped you can get the 1-drive-per-bay red plastic snap on ones on

    for about $0.80 ea. delivered. They're a little crude looking and don't come with screws but they work fine. Example:
