^ Isn't that vastly superior? If you already have doorbell wiring then it is quick and easy to install, no stringing coax or ethernet for video streams.
Yes you'd need wifi, but I'd rather go buy a router than have to try to string cables to my front door for a doorbell, and that would come from a switch or router anyway if network connected over cable.
You can get something sufficient, a wifi router or access point, for a single/few clients for under $20 these days. Heck I have two or three that I'd give away for free, after I upgraded.
