^ Radio Shack should have used these radios, it may have warned them of the storm ahead.
This must have been another product that stood in the way of them becoming a cell phone only store. Why wouldn't they sell these off through their own stores unless they were a troublesome product?
It wouldn't surprise me if it wasn't available in their B&M stores because those are so small there is no possible way they could carry everything available on the website.
They do still carry an Oregon Scientific branded model that looks vaguely similar, but unfortunately it only has one review which vaguely claimed receipt of one that was defective without mentioning what the problem was: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=12937863
