Amazon
reviews are the worst I've seen in a while. Seems like the new ones gave the most trouble. The cheaper refurbed model is 80 bucks after the code. After some work the furb may be the better choice.

The engines that power jets burn a fuel much, much more closely related to kerosene than gasoline. What do you mean by more advanced? Cleaner burning? More energy by volume? Less cost/energy to produce? Flexibility of source?

Buyer beware!

Having owned both the wheeled and non-wheeled versions of these heaters, I'll never own a non-wheeled version ever again.

Propane works far better, is cheaper, easier to get, and much safer. Just use the canister from your gas grill. For same money (e.g.
Amazon
or Home Depot), you get 3+ fan speeds, tipover safety control, and flame sensor to shut off gas if no flame. BTU content of propane is far higher than kerosene, burns clean = more and better heat.
