Nope. If there is such a big shortage, the coins I have should go up in value, right?

I have two 5 gallon water jugs full of mostly silver coins.... But they want 7 or 8 % fee at these constar machines.... Imma throw my weight around at my bank and make them take all my spare change

My credit union has a similar machine that you pour your coins in and get a slip of paper that you take to a teller and cash out or deposit. No fee involved and you don't need to roll the coins.

My credit union has an actual Coinstar machine, and they waive the fee for members. I wonder if this promo will work there.

Ummm... they sorta did go up in value. There is no fee for
Amazon
gift cards so $5 on top of $30 is about 16% increase in value.

FYI Coinstar takes nearly $12 for every $100 in coins you deposit.

This is super clever. The sort of folks who likely have a ton of change sitting around are probably the sort of folks not tithing 80% of their income to Pope Bezos, so the "first one's free" giftcard is exactly the trick to rope them in.
