The DVR functions that are part of Plex Pass is good for the most part, but it still doesn't feel as reliable as Tablo or TiVo DVRs. For example, for the show, The 100, Plex DVR would not record episode 9 because its guide kept thinking it was a repeat episode when it was definitely a new episode (I actually watched it live too). No matter how many times I tried to refresh the Plex guide, it just kept thinking it would be a repeat.
It turns out Plex labeled the previous episode file as episode 9. I ended up having to manually move that episode out of the Plex folder until the actual episode 9 was recorded. This is not the 1st time it's happened either, as I've missed a few new episodes of other shows because of it.
Another feature I wish Plex DVR would have (unless I haven't found it yet) is the function to force a manual recording based on channel and time only.
Used to be heavy (100TB Synology running plex) and I ditched it. It was for a lot of reasons. Too much electricity (my bill is now half) and I was filling it quick. Plus with MA, Vudu and video redepmtion sites etc. and yes, all the streaming, while you don't have the convenience of having your own library and special curated; you easily have access without wasting money. (my streaming bill is less than what I wasted in electricity and constant hardware upgrades) . Still good to have for some small curated stuff, but I think it's better for smaller NAS's or servers.

Thank you!
