^ Don't know and not sure if it matters. Brushed aluminum could feel and look a little nicer, but if not HAIII anodized, could scratch through to the silver base metal color, and in some situations, plastic might offer more shock protection if dropped. For $7 I wouldn't be too picky if a semi-major brand with over 5K reviews averaging 4.6/5 stars.
I suppose if running a high performance (high RPM) HDD instead of SSD, the aluminum might make a little temperature difference, but I wouldn't be hammering a 2.5" external HDD for long enough at a time to matter.
