Oh no....not Onkyo again......just google "problems with Onkyo receivers" and then make up you mind.....ya ya....I know they were bought by the Gibson guitar Co....who cares.....they have a track record of issues and a track record of not helping resolve them with customers. Over heating and HDMI problems are 2 of their biggest....

Interesting.... i've had Onkyo receivers for the past 5 years without even 1 issue. My current one (TX-SR608) has been fantastic.... I must admit, i'm not an audiophile by any means, but it works great.

The memory capacitor went bad in my 506b after about 3 years. Loses all settings when the power goes out. Poor design.

If on a budget look for a used Yamaha receiver. I bought two 995s for $100 and $140 each and they have proven to be indestructable. Purchased used and still going strong after 5 years of heavy use and abuse driving a vatriety of both high and low efficiencvy speakers. Not McIntosh quality but awesome bang for the buck. Just my two cents...
