It's on sale a lot. I got one for $20 in the previous sale and it's pretty good. The wifi signal range is pretty far and creates strong stable connections. I use it as a wireless access point and it was really plug and play and all my devices and printers were able to see each other just by letting it set the settings automatically. I heard you can flash openwrt and use it as a standalone router as well. I haven't tried that but I haven't heard any problems regarding that by people who tried it either. I'm not a fan of netgear as I think as a company they've been going downhill on quality but this product is so far solid.
^ I've had some problems with their low end, 5-8 port Gb switches (GS605, GS105) where at about 5 years old, electrolytic capacitors pop, but I just soldered in new caps and they've kept going. Those pre-date the newer generations of green switches that use less power, run cooler, and seem to last longer before cap problems.
I also run DD-WRT on a Netgear router, has been great, good range and stable. It doesn't have any vulnerable electrolytic caps inside, just in the wall wart but those tend to last closer to 10 years, and I keep a couple spares.
