Good bread knives work well on other types of items, not just bread. I have a Mercer bread knife and it can produce a pretty clean cut on meat.

This is a PROFESSIONAL bread knife, folks. This is what people who cut bread for a living use. The guy at the Wonderbread factory slicing your white loaf is using one of these.
