Don;t bother with this cr^p. Every surface pen I have had would go unresponsive until I removed the battery and put it back in, essentially having to rebooting the pen before it would work again. It would happen while I was rapidly taking meeting notes and annoy the heck out of me. I eventually got a Wacom bamboo ink 1 pen, and it's much better. It comes with a switch that lets you turn the pen on/off more easily, but it's not needed for reboot because the pen is dammed reliable. The on/off switch does help with saving the AAAA battery power when not in use. It also supports both AES and EMR stylus standards, so it works with both my Dell XPS 13 and my surface tablet. You can pick them up used on for $20 or less.
