A decent laptop at this price. I don't like the plastic/magnesium (whatever it is) back case and the monitor resolution is crappy, but definitely love the aluminium lid and the especially the touchpad which is very on par with Apple's touchpad. Windows S mode is great, but you can't install VS Code, which is a ridiculous restriction IMHO. Of course you can't install Anaconda either, nothing from outside. So, the security's philosophy is great, but the implementation is terrible. Having said that, the machine is decent at this price point, IMHO. BTW, battery life is about 5 hours (no gaming or continuous video watching) with regular programming, learning, reading, etc. With more and more working in the "cloud," Apple machines gain more ground. I use Windows machines for some work stuff, exclusively MS Access and other MS programming. Now with MS Power Platform, MS Access is about to be gone, and my Apple machines work just fine in the "cloud." I'm not a "fanboy" by any means, but I keep mentioning Apple's because my MacBook Pro 2011 is still functioning with about 2 hours of juice (but no longer upgradable to new OS). So my next laptop will be a MacBook Air just because it makes more sense with all the "cloud" thingy and longevity. A MacBook Air M1 is about $200 more (but if you're a student, only $100 more) than the $256 Surface Laptop Go version (but it lives twice as much and comes with tons of apps (I love iMovie and Garageband) and free OS upgrade).
Final: yes, I like it, but I like the M1 MacBook Air more.

    So do I.
Unfortunately, they figured out they gave you too much freedom with Access. They already chopped the Sharepoint and web versions. If you only need the standalone and some dozens users, you should be fine for a while. As a backup plan, I start working on MS Power Platform.
