These are VLKs, or Volume License Keys. For example, when a University buys Office/Windows for 10,000 computers, they dont buy 10,000 keys. They get one key that works for 10,000 computers. These are the keys these companies sell. The other type of key they sell are Developer keys (MSDN). You can sign up for a development account and get activation keys that are meant for testing purposes, not production. They will sell these keys, too. Either way, it violates the EULA with Microsoft, and they are by no means 'legit'. They do work, but they can be voided at any given time.
Check out the latest copy of LibreOffice. You'll be impressed. It's free. So far I have not found any incompatibility with MS Office 2016 for what I do, or for previously created documents with various MS Office versions.
Some of u may be eligible for Microsofts home use program (hup) and qualify for a humongous discount on office, as an employee of certain companies. Check here.
